I loved staying at this hotel. Very clean rooms. The staff were very friendly. It was a plus having a 7-11.

Wonderful Hotel in a quieter Tokyo district

    rating22 Apr 2026

Hotel is in a quieter district of Tokyo that suited us. Within walking distance of subway and Government Metropolitan Building with amazing rooftop views. There is also a park across the road where we saw beautiful Sakura. Our deluxe double room was clean and spacious and the staff were very friendly and helpful. There was a good choice at breakfast including freshly squeezed orange juice, the homemade pancakes were delicious. After a busy day sightseeing it was welcoming to return to the cozy hotel bar. We didn’t eat dinner in the restaurant, but the menu looked good.

    Loved the message chair.

I would recommend the Daiwa Roynet, Nishi Shinjuku. I couldn't call the room extremely spacious, but by Japanese standards, it is. We loved the bathroom, heated toilet seat, and all!! Great shower. The room had all the amenities one would want. A hint, as with many hotels, the coffee, tea, etc that one wants to consume in the room, is downstairs in the lobby. We had a Deluxe Double Room, and it came with a chair that gave incredible massages. We had breakfast each morning in the nearby Hearth restaurant, which was not included in the room price. They did have a large selection of choices. It was buffet style and cost about $16 a person. In my experience, the location is totally dependent upon access to a train station. Tokyo is huge and trains are a must unless you want to spend a ton on cabs. The Nishi Shinjuku station is only a 5 to 10 minute walk. We didn't find a lot of restaurants nearby, but that could have been our fault. We ended up eating at Ramen War twice, which was just fine. So overall, yes, I would stay at the Daiwa Roynet again.

    Below acceptable service

    rating17 Apr 2026

We stayed at the Daiwa Nishi-Shinjuku Premier hotel for 3 nights. As we had previously stayed in a twin room at Daiwa Kyoto Ekimae Premier, we booked a Twin room at this Shinjuku with an identical size of 23 sm. However, the room size and room quality of the Nishi Shinjuku hotel turned out to be very different from our Kyoto experience. Even for a twin room, we struggled to open our luggage cases daily. While the bathroom seems to have been newly renovated with Toto sanitary ware, the bedroom is dated and worn out with tears on the PVC headboard. Overall, the bed, mattress, pillows and comforter and even bath towels are well used and below expectation in comfort. The curtains have no black-out material. Some positives. The hotel is a 6-minute walk from the nearest subway. There is a convenient 7-11 in the building basement and an excellent Italian restaurant, Hearth on the ground level. Housekeeping and cleanliness is good and acceptable. Many of the reception staff seem unhappy or stressed as they are often unsmiling or do not greet guests. Our biggest disappointment is that the hotel does not have a baggage delivery service to send our heavy bags to Haneda airport, Terminal 2 (international terminal). This hotel uses Yamato for hotel-to-hotel luggage delivery, but strangely it uses a different company, Airporter for airport delivery. We were told that Airporter does not deliver bags to Haneda T2 from 1 Apr 2026. Basically, the perception we got from the reception staff is that luggage delivery is a third party arrangement; the hotel does not make any money from the delivery service so the guest's problem is not really the hotel's concern. Even though Yamato delivery truck and staff come to the hotel and to the 7-11 daily, the reception staff refused to call Yamato to arrange to collect our bags. As Yamato airport delivery is ubiquitous all over Japan, the hotel's hands-off policy on luggage is simply unacceptable especially for a premier establishment. There was no interest or attempt to find a solution to our own "third party" problem. Eventually, we took a cab to the nearest Yamato office and the Taqubin cheerfully took care of our bags.

    Nice Hotel Small Rooms

    rating31 Mar 2026

We stayed 3 nights here and were happy with the hotel. However rooms are small with the bed pushed against the wall on one side. Bathroom is great though and includes a small bath. Location is good. 5 minutes to the metro and 10 into the restaurant area of Shinjuku.
