    Best Boutique Hotel

    If you are looking for an amazing stay this is the place! First class service, from the moment you are greeted at the welcome desk you feel like family. Everyone, we met who helped us was over the top helpful! There are only 19 rooms here- don’t miss out! What makes this even ni er is the included breakfast and the expansive menu options! We literally had to tell the it was too much food and to only bring us smaller portions. The rooms are nice with modern bathrooms. The only thing I think they should do is add a mirror outside if the bathroom so you can continue to get ready if someone is using the restroom or shower. Bonus was the location is also only 90 minute ride to Skyline Adventure (awesome experience). There is a great Thai place just past the Indian place as you walk toward main gate. The litttle patio bar is fun and we met Hut, the bartender, and Paul, a long stay tourist who was very helpful.

    A real solid down to earth hotel. Very caring and respectful staff, always ready to help. Nicely situated inside the old city, with lots of restaurants in the area. Most of the main attractions in Chiang Mai are walkable from Makkachiva. Good value for money. We enjoyed our stay.

    The hotel is located in the old town of Chiang Mai, which is practical to explore the town by foot.Unfortunately the hotel didn't meet our expectations. The rooms have absolutely no room to store your clothes or the suitcases. It's ok if you stay 1 night, but more?Also, we had a room right next to the elevator, which was very noisy and everything was vibrating. The beds are extremely hard. I didn't sleep for 2 nights!The shower in the bathroom was also not great, as the glass is too small and the floors slippery.The breakfast is not a buffet, but you can choose from various set menus. It was good.The staff was very friendly, but that doesn't improve the premises.I would definitely not stay again in this hotel, as it is not worth the price!

    Disappointing stay - disinterested client service

    A disappointing stay. We booked the hotel based on other reviews - unfortunately our experience was average. The room is large and clean, the bathroom well appointed. Check in was slow and the front desk consistently gave us incorrect information. We accept that the hotel could not provide a later check-out but there are no facilities to freshen up prior to a long flight. Breakfast was a disappointment. one orders from a limited choice from a series of set menus - thee helpings are not generous and our food was soggy and oily.The position of the hotel is gtreat for touring the old city.

    We had a fantastic stay at Makkachiva hotel for four nights and wished we had booked at least another two with them. The guys at the front desk couldn’t have been more accommodating, they really make you feel welcome as soon as you walk in. We thought the hotel’s decor was amazing with marble flooring as you walk in, traditional dark wood throughout, and a beautiful water feature at the bottom of the stairs. The rooms are also stylish but simple, the bed is big and the mattress is hard which I personally much prefer. The location is perfect being right in the heart of the old city with easy access to some of the best temples, night markets, restaurants and massage parlours, even so we didn’t hear any noise from the outside whilst in the hotel. Loved that they ask you to take your shoes off when you arrive and then provide you with slippers to be worn when inside, it’s great to learn new culture when abroad and also the hotel floors didn’t have a drop of dirt throughout it was very clean. Don’t skip their breakfast and big shout out again to all of their lovely staff working on the front desk, the lady in particular 👍🏻
