Booking all inclusive holidays from Edinburgh to Maldives means one package price covers flights, transfers and accommodation, with meals, soft drinks and many activities included. Be open. Flight times and departure airports shape a trip as much as the hotel does, so look at both together. Short transfers leave more of your first and last day to enjoy.

The Maldives is an island nation of coral islands spread across many atolls in the Indian Ocean, known for overwater bungalows, white-sand beaches, clear lagoons and some of the best snorkelling and diving anywhere. An all inclusive board basis suits guests who want to stay on one island and let the day unfold around the lagoon, the house reef and the restaurants, rather than planning every meal or worrying about the bill at each sitting. Go early.

We build every all inclusive package from Edinburgh with the transfer as a central check, because the difference between a short speedboat ride and a longer seaplane or domestic flight changes how the holiday feels from the very first day. We look closely at which meals, drinks and activities are genuinely included at each property, the reef and lagoon conditions for swimming and snorkelling, and the seasonal weather for the dates you want. Aim wide.

Why Book All Inclusive Holidays from Edinburgh to Maldives

Lagoon-front living

Many resorts are built on private islands, so you step from your villa straight into clear water. Reef-sheltered lagoons with gently shelving sand suit a slow morning swim. Few destinations make this so easy to do every day of a stay.

Reef life nearby

Extensive coral reefs and abundant marine life sit close to most resort shorelines. Sea turtles and reef rays are regularly spotted on house reefs. Dive centres are attached to most properties, so you can start learning without leaving the island.

Overwater privacy

Overwater bungalows are built on stilts above the lagoon, with direct access to the water. Many guests book them for honeymoons or anniversaries because of the seclusion they offer. Villa choice is one of the biggest decisions you will make.

Seaplane arrivals

Seaplane transfers are a signature way to reach remote resorts, with scenic views across the atolls. Flight times vary with distance, so ask us about your specific island before you travel. The approach itself often becomes a highlight of the whole trip, especially on a clear morning with the lagoons glowing below and the resort coming into view.

Atoll personalities

Each atoll feels different, from the resort-heavy north and centre to the quieter south. Huvadhoo Atoll is among the largest and suits travellers who want fewer crowds. Matching the atoll to your mood makes a real difference to how the holiday feels.

Easy island-hopping options

Speedboat and domestic flight connections let you combine atolls on a longer trip. Malé is a compact capital you can walk in an afternoon, and it works well as a starting point. This variety keeps a two-centre itinerary feeling fresh rather than repetitive, with a new landscape and pace each time you move between islands.

Your Guide to All Inclusive Holidays from Edinburgh to Maldives

Resort-based all inclusive stays are the most straightforward way to enjoy the Maldives, with the lagoon, restaurants and activities all on one island.

Ari Atoll resorts: Discover the best all-inclusive resorts from Edinburgh with Travelodeal, where every package is ATOL and ABTA protected for complete peace of mind. Choose from a selection of well-appointed resorts in Kavos, Corfu's lively south-western resort town, with sandy beaches, sea-view balconies and a wide choice of restaurants and bars. Flights depart conveniently from Edinburgh, so you can enjoy a relaxed, fully inclusive Greek island escape with meals, drinks and entertainment all included. It is exactly the brief our Maldives All Inclusive Holidays deals are built around.
Baa Atoll resorts: Baa Atoll is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve with resort islands set around reef systems known for manta ray encounters. Transfers from the capital take longer than to the nearer atolls, which is worth factoring into your day one plans. Guests who want an all inclusive base close to reef life rather than just a sandy lagoon often find this atoll rewarding. We like it for travellers who value the marine environment as much as the beach.
Huvadhoo Atoll resorts: Huvadhoo Atoll is among the largest atolls in the Maldives and is served by domestic flights and boat transfers, which makes the journey longer than to the central atolls. Its resorts are quieter and suit guests who want seclusion and fewer neighbours on the water. The longer transfer means packing for the journey and allowing a full day to arrive. We recommend it for those who see the travel as part of the appeal.
Addu Atoll resorts: Addu Atoll sits at the southern tip of the Maldives, with causeway-linked islands and a more local character than many of the resort atolls. Its journey is among the longest from the capital, so it is best suited to guests planning a longer stay. The atoll offers a different perspective on the country, including its wartime history. For guests who want something distinct from the typical lagoon resort, it is a thoughtful choice.
Capital and Hulhumalé stays: Hulhumalé is a reclaimed island linked to the capital by causeway and sits close to the airport, which keeps the transfer to a stay on the capital side short. It suits guests who want city access, dining choices and a shorter transfer, though it is not a secluded beach resort. Many travellers use it for a first night or a city-focused break. We think it is a practical option where convenience comes first.

The Maldives is made up of many inhabited and resort islands, and each one offers a different balance of transfer time, reef and atmosphere.

Thulusdhoo surf island: Islands can be a wonderful choice for a Corfu escape, and few places capture that appeal better than Kassiopi on the island's northeast coast. This working fishing village has kept much of its traditional charm, with waterside tavernas, a small harbour where caïques bob gently, and a fortress overlooking the bay. Guests can spend their days swimming in clear water, exploring nearby coves by boat, or simply enjoying a relaxed pace that feels a world away from busier resorts. It is exactly the brief our Maldives holidays deals are built around.
Dhigurah sandbank island: Dhigurah lies in the southern part of the archipelago and is reached by domestic flight followed by a boat transfer, with a long sandbank and access to whale shark waters nearby. Its remoteness means a longer journey than to the islands close to the capital. Guests who want quiet beaches and marine encounters, and who are comfortable with a more involved transfer, may find it rewarding. We think it suits travellers seeking a less visited corner of the country.
Fuvahmulah single island: Fuvahmulah is a single island in the south, known for its large lagoon and freshwater features, and it is reached by domestic flight from the capital. It is far less visited than the main resort atolls, so it offers an off-track experience with fewer crowds. Accommodation options and included services are more limited than at major resorts, which should be weighed before booking. We recommend it for those who want something genuinely different from the usual Maldives trip.
Capital island: The capital is the most densely populated island and the main gateway through Velana International Airport. It offers a glimpse of everyday Maldivian life, with mosques, markets and waterfront evenings away from the resorts. The capital itself is not an all inclusive resort, so guests combining a city night with a resort stay should plan for this. We think it works well as a short addition to an all inclusive trip. It is exactly the brief our Cheap Maldives Holidays deals are built around.
Kaafu Atoll resort islands: Kaafu Atoll contains the capital and a cluster of resort islands within relatively short reach of the airport, making it the most convenient region for a first transfer. Resorts here often combine overwater villas with reef snorkelling close to the room. The trade-off is that the most popular islands can book up early and feel busier at peak times. We recommend it for guests who want the shortest possible journey from the airport to the lagoon.
