All inclusive family holidays to Maldives bundle meals, drinks and many activities into one price, so you know roughly what the trip will cost. This guide covers these holidays in detail. Booking with Travelodeal means flights, resort stays and transfers fully arranged together, with one clear booking and trusted expert support throughout your trip.

The Maldives is an island nation of low-lying coral islands grouped into atolls in the Indian Ocean, best known for overwater bungalows, white-sand beaches, clear lagoons and reef life. Many family resorts sit on private islands with sheltered lagoons that shelve gently, giving younger children a safe place to wade and older ones a route to snorkelling over the house reef, while sunset cruises and guided beach walks add memorable moments for all ages.

Booking with us means we look at the practical details that make a family trip work rather than just the brochure picture. We check resort lagoon conditions, the size and layout of family villas, what children's programmes are actually offered and whether the transfer from the airport suits small children. We also explain how the speedboat, seaplane and domestic flight options differ, so you can plan the journey around nap times and long days.

Why Book All Inclusive Family Holidays to Maldives

Lagoon-front living

Many resorts are built on private islands, so you step from your villa straight into clear water. Reef-sheltered lagoons with gently shelving sand suit a slow morning swim. Few destinations make this so easy to do every day of a stay.

Reef life nearby

Extensive coral reefs and abundant marine life sit close to most resort shorelines. Sea turtles and reef rays are regularly spotted on house reefs. Dive centres are attached to most properties, so you can start learning without leaving the island.

Overwater privacy

Overwater bungalows are built on stilts above the lagoon, with direct access to the water. Many guests book them for honeymoons or anniversaries because of the seclusion they offer. Villa choice is one of the biggest decisions you will make.

Seaplane arrivals

Seaplane transfers are a signature way to reach remote resorts, with scenic views across the atolls. Flight times vary with distance, so ask us about your specific island before you travel. The approach itself often becomes a highlight of the whole trip, especially on a clear morning with the lagoons glowing below and the resort coming into view.

Atoll personalities

Each atoll feels different, from the resort-heavy north and centre to the quieter south. Huvadhoo Atoll is among the largest and suits travellers who want fewer crowds. Matching the atoll to your mood makes a real difference to how the holiday feels.

Easy island-hopping options

Speedboat and domestic flight connections let you combine atolls on a longer trip. Malé is a compact capital you can walk in an afternoon, and it works well as a starting point. This variety keeps a two-centre itinerary feeling fresh rather than repetitive, with a new landscape and pace each time you move between islands.

Your Guide to All Inclusive Family Holidays to Maldives

These resort islands combine all inclusive meal plans with facilities designed around children and multi-generation groups.

Vilamendhoo Island Resort: Vilamendhoo Island Resort sits on a small island within the Maldives' western archipelago, a short speedboat ride from the capital, which keeps the transfer manageable with young children. The resort is known for its house reef and calm lagoon, so families can snorkel without travelling far from the beach. We find it works well for first-time visitors who want an easy journey and a resort that does not feel overwhelming. The trade-off is a smaller island, so families wanting many restaurants may prefer a larger property. It is exactly the brief our Maldives All Inclusive Holidays deals are built around.
Kanuhura Maldives: Kanuhura lies in Dhaalu Atoll and offers a relaxed setting with sheltered beaches and a wide range of water sports for older children. The resort's package structure suits families who want meals and drinks included without constant bill checking. We recommend it for families who value an unhurried pace and a mix of lagoon swimming and guided excursions. Transfers are longer than to the nearest atolls, so allow extra time for the boat or seaplane leg.
Filitheyo Island Resort: Filitheyo is located in Vaavu Atoll and attracts families who want a compact resort with a strong focus on the natural reef. The lagoon is generally sheltered and suitable for supervised paddling, and the house reef gives children easy access to turtles and reef fish. We like it for families seeking a quieter stay with straightforward facilities. Because the resort is smaller, the choice of dining and entertainment is more limited than at the largest properties.
Huvafen Fushi: Families with older children may enjoy its dining options and spa, while younger ones benefit from calm, sheltered water. We suggest it for families with a higher budget who value design and service over simplicity. Families should check which villas accommodate their group size before booking, as layouts vary.
Dhigali Maldives: Dhigali sits in South Male Atoll's southern reaches and is positioned for families who want a resort with a broad range of activities and convenient access from the capital. The island offers reef snorkelling close to the beach and the option of guided marine trips for older children. We recommend it as a balanced choice for families who want variety without travelling to the far atolls. Check the current inclusions for children's programmes, as these change between seasons.

Individual islands offer different scales of lagoon, reef and village life for families choosing between a quiet base and an active one.

Maafushi: Maafushi is a local inhabited island in Kaafu Atoll that is a short speedboat ride from the capital, making it the most accessible option on this list. It is popular with budget-conscious travellers, but families should note that alcohol is not sold there and modest dress is expected in public areas. We suggest it for families who want a simple, lower-cost stay and are happy with guesthouse accommodation rather than a full resort. It is not an all inclusive setting, so meals must be planned separately. It is exactly the brief our Maldives Family Holidays deals are built around.
Thulusdhoo: Thulusdhoo is a local island in Kaafu Atoll reached by boat from the capital, known for its surf breaks and relaxed atmosphere. Families with older, confident swimmers may enjoy watching surfers from the shore, though the surf is not suitable for small children. We find it suits families seeking a local island experience with a gentle pace. Local rules on dress and alcohol apply, so families should prepare for a different atmosphere from the resorts.
Dhigurah: Dhigurah is a local island in the southern reaches of the Maldives' western archipelago, featuring a long sandbank and access to waters where whale sharks are sometimes seen. It is reached by domestic flight and boat, so the journey takes longer than to the nearer islands and is best suited to families with older children who handle travel well. Designed around the same brief our Cheap Maldives Holidays deals are built around, it suits families wanting a quieter base with wildlife on the doorstep. Sightings are seasonal and not guaranteed, so do not plan the trip around them.
Fuvahmulah: Fuvahmulah is a single island in the south of the Maldives with an unusual large inland lake and a slower pace than the main resort areas. It is reached by domestic flight from the capital, and its infrastructure is more limited than the resort islands. We suggest it for families who want something different and are comfortable with a simpler setting. It is a less typical choice for an all inclusive package, so check carefully what is covered before booking.
Hulhumalé: Hulhumalé is a reclaimed island connected to the capital by causeway, developed as a residential and commercial area close to the airport. Families might use it for a short first or last night, as it avoids a long boat leg while giving access to local shops and cafés. We see it as a practical option rather than a beach-focused base. It is not a resort island, so the all inclusive element will not apply in the same way.
