Greece Holidays in April

Greece Holidays in April from the UK

UTC +02:00Euro (EUR)Greek

When you book Greece holidays in April, your money goes towards a fully arranged trip covering flights, transfers and accommodation in one package, so you are not left coordinating separate bookings from abroad. Spring in Greece is mild and increasingly warm, with wildflowers across the countryside and quieter sights for every traveller to enjoy.

Greece is a country in southeast Europe on the Balkan Peninsula, known for ancient sites such as the Acropolis, whitewashed villages, Mediterranean food and an archipelago of islands that many UK visitors explore by ferry. April is a shoulder month: the weather is settling after winter, island services are restarting, and the big summer crowds have not yet arrived, so you can wander ancient ruins and seaside tavernas at a relaxed pace. Go early.

We build April packages around what the month actually offers, checking flight schedules, ferry timetables and resort opening dates before we confirm a trip. Many resorts reopen only after Easter, so we confirm availability well in advance. We handle the arrangements, check your passport validity, and remind you of entry and health paperwork ahead of departure, so you can simply relax and enjoy the warm spring sunshine on your holiday. Aim wide.

Why Book Greece Holidays in April

Ancient history

The Parthenon was completed in 432 BC and still stands on the Acropolis above Athens. Few cities place such a famous monument so close to the centre. Visitors can walk from the Plaka district to the summit in under half an hour.

Island variety

Greece has more than 6,000 islands, of which around 227 are inhabited. Each has its own character, from the volcanic cliffs of Santorini to the green hills of Corfu. Ferries from Piraeus make it simple to combine several in one trip.

Scenic shoreline

The Aegean and Ionian Seas wash a shoreline of beaches, coves and whitewashed harbour towns. Many beaches shelve gently, which suits families with younger children. Sea temperatures are warm enough for swimming from late spring into autumn, and many bays stay calm well into the evening.

Mediterranean food

Grilled souvlaki, baked moussaka and horiatiki salad are served across the country in tavernas and street stalls. Meals are typically long and unhurried, with plenty of time for conversation. Local olive oil and feta are staples on almost every menu, and many restaurants source produce from nearby farms.

Easy flights

Athens is served from many UK airports, and flights take around three and a half to four hours. Domestic flights and ferries then carry travellers on to the islands. This makes Greece a realistic choice for a short break as well as a longer stay.

Variety for every traveller

Greece caters to couples, families, solo travellers and history enthusiasts alike. Resorts range from lively party towns to quiet villages with few visitors, and there is a comfortable choice of stays for every budget. The mix of options makes it easy to find a holiday that fits, whatever your plans.

Your Guide to Greece Holidays in April

Corfu Town, Greece

Rhodes, Greece

April temperatures rise steadily across Greece, and a few regions reliably feel warmer and more settled than others during the month.

Crete: Wildflowers blanket the hillsides, and the island's olive groves and sheltered coves are at their most inviting, which is exactly the kind of spring sunshine that our Greece Last Minute Holidays deals are built around.
Rhodes: Rhodes sits in the southeast of the Aegean and generally offers some of the most dependable spring sunshine in Greece, with the Old Town's walls providing shade for pleasant midday exploring. In April the sea is still refreshing rather than warm, so most visitors spend their days sightseeing and their late afternoons on the sand. Rhodes is a good fit if you want warm air and a historic town to explore without needing to be on the beach all day. It is exactly the brief our Rhodes holidays deals are built around.
Athens: Athens is often warm and dry in April, and the city's clear light makes the ancient hilltop citadel a comfortable visit on a mild spring morning. The capital sits a short drive from the port of Piraeus, so it doubles as a base for day trips out to the sea. Choose Athens if you want reliable warmth for walking, museums and café life rather than a beach-focused break. It is exactly the brief our Athens holidays deals are built around.
Corfu: Corfu in the Ionian Sea tends to be greener and slightly cooler than the southern Aegean islands in April, with rain possible early in the month. Later in April the island becomes more pleasant, and its sheltered east coast can feel comfortable for an outdoor lunch. Corfu suits travellers who value greenery and gentle weather over guaranteed hot sun. It is exactly the brief our Corfu holidays deals are built around.
Naxos: Naxos is the largest island in the Cyclades, and its interior hills and sheltered west-coast beaches tend to be warmer in April than the more exposed northern shores. The island is quieter in spring than in summer, which means that restaurants and hotels keep relaxed hours. We recommend Naxos for travellers who want a warm, low-key island break rather than a busy one.

Beach resorts in April are best chosen for their sheltered bays and for which hotels have reopened, since many coastal businesses only start up as the weather settles.

Ixia: Ixia is a sheltered resort with a long sandy beach that suits April visitors who want an easy, calm shoreline. Many hotels here open for the spring season, but it is worth confirming that your chosen property is fully running before you travel. We like Ixia for families and couples who want a quiet stretch of coast with access to the historic old town by road.
Agios Nikolaos: Agios Nikolaos on the northeast coast is a small harbour town with a sheltered bay, and it gives April visitors a comfortable place to swim once the water warms a little. The town has a steady range of cafés and restaurants that are usually open by the time the month is well under way. We suggest it for travellers who want a town setting that is calm in spring and easy to walk around.
Malia: Malia on the north coast has a long sandy beach, and its resorts tend to open progressively through April rather than all at once. The sea here is still cool early in the month, so most guests spend more time on walks and day trips than on the sand. Malia works well for a slow spring break with the option of a short drive to the island's main city for culture.
Parikia: Parikia is the main harbour town on its island, and its waterfront and nearby west-coast beaches make a good April base for travellers who want a ferry-linked island with a working town. Ferries connect the island with the mainland port, so the timetable can be checked before you book. We recommend Parikia for those who want a traditional town setting and a beach within easy reach.
Faliraki: Faliraki is a large resort about fifteen kilometres from the island's main town, and in April its beach and promenade are gradually filling as the season builds. Expect quieter streets than in summer but a fuller range of facilities than in winter. We suggest Faliraki for those who want resort amenities and an easy beach, with the understanding that some bars and attractions may still be ramping up. It is exactly the brief our Greece Beach Holidays deals are built around.
