Holidays from Bristol to Iceland

Flight routes from Bristol are confirmed by our team at the time of booking, so the options below focus on the destinations and transfers you can expect once you arrive.

• Reykjavik: Reykjavik is the natural arrival point for most visitors, and the transfer from the international airport on the Reykjanes peninsula into the city centre is the standard first step of the trip. Because the capital is compact and walkable, you can settle in quickly and build your days around the harbour, museums and nearby day routes. It is the easiest base if you want flexibility and a short distance to everything, though you will pay more for city accommodation than in smaller towns. It is exactly the brief our Reykjavik holidays deals are built around.
• Blue Lagoon: The Blue Lagoon sits close to the airport, which makes it a practical stop for a short time between flights, whether you arrive or depart. Its geothermal water is a well-known way to start or finish a trip, and bookings are generally recommended in advance. We think it works best as a relaxed first or last activity rather than the centrepiece of a longer stay, given the wider country on offer, the same brief our Iceland Luxury Holidays deals are built around.
• Keflavik: Keflavik is the main international gateway, and the drive from the airport to the capital is the logical first leg for almost every holiday from Bristol. Arriving here means you can reach the city without crossing the country, which saves time for travellers with limited days. Confirming your transfer arrangements before departure is a sensible step, as we check these as part of your booking.
• Akureyri: Akureyri is a northern town set on a long fjord, reached by a longer onward journey from the capital rather than directly from the airport. Its appeal is the quieter pace, the botanical garden and access to whale watching and the Godafoss waterfall. We recommend it for travellers who want a slower stay and are comfortable planning a separate onward leg. It is exactly the brief our Iceland holidays deals are built around.
• Stykkisholmur: Stykkisholmur is a small harbour town on the western edge of Iceland's coastline, typically reached by road from the capital in a few hours. It is a peaceful base with boat trips to Breidafjordur bay and a ferry link to the Westfjords. It suits visitors who want a slower stay away from the busier south, though the wider region has fewer services than the capital.
