Holidays from Manchester to Croatia

Our Manchester departures open up several gateway routes into Croatia, and each one shapes how quickly you reach the coast.

• Dubrovnik: Dubrovnik is the southern gateway most travellers from Manchester head for first, and its airport sits a short shuttle bus or taxi ride from the city centre. From the airport you can reach the walled old town in a comparatively short transfer, which makes it an efficient arrival point for a southern coast holiday. We would suggest it for travellers who want an easy journey onward into the old town and the surrounding coastline. Explore our Dubrovnik holidays.
• Split: Split airport connects to the city by airport shuttle bus and taxi, placing you within reach of the seafront and the historic old town soon after landing. Its position on the central Dalmatian coast also makes it a practical starting point for ferry links to the islands. We recommend Split for those who want a lively city base with straightforward access to the sea and to the wider coast, the same brief our Croatia Adults Only Holidays deals are built around.
• Zagreb: Zagreb is the inland capital, and it has a direct airport bus into the city centre, which makes the transfer from arrival to hotel simple. Choosing Zagreb means trading the seafront for museums, cafés and the historic old quarter of Gradec, so it suits travellers who want a city-focused trip rather than a beach holiday, the same brief our Croatia Last Minute Holidays deals are built around. It is an easy route for those seeking culture and a less crowded pace.
• Hvar: Hvar is reached by ferry from the mainland port rather than directly from the airport, so the route adds a sea crossing to your journey. That extra step is part of the appeal, because the island offers sunshine, a historic harbour town and beaches close to the water. We think the island is worth the additional transfer for travellers who value island scenery over airport convenience. Browse our Hvar holidays.
• Plitvice Lakes: Plitvice Lakes National Park lies inland in the Lika region, and reaching it from the coast or from the capital involves a longer road journey than most resort transfers. The park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site with interlinked lakes, and visiting it is best planned as a day excursion rather than a transfer stop. Because that kind of planning is exactly the same brief our Cheap Croatia Holidays deals are built around, we suggest arranging this journey once you know which gateway suits your wider itinerary.
