Cheap Solo Holidays to Greece

Resort-based stays give solo travellers a lively base with easy access to beaches, bars and organised day trips.

• Sami: Sami, on the eastern coast of Kefalonia, is a relaxed harbour village that suits solo travellers looking for affordable Greek island charm. Small family-run guesthouses and simple studios sit a short stroll from the waterfront, where fishing boats bob beside the quayside tavernas. Lone holidaymakers can enjoy inexpensive grilled fish and local wine, catch the regular bus to the sandy beaches of Antisamos and Makris Gialos, and join the boat trips to the Melissani Cave without committing to pricey excursions. It is exactly the brief our Rhodes holidays deals are built around.
• Faliraki Strip: Faliraki lies roughly 15 km from Rhodes Town and is one of the busiest resort areas on the island, with a long sandy beach and a wide choice of bars and cafés. Solo travellers tend to find it easy to meet people in the evenings, which many appreciate on a first trip alone. The downside is noise and crowding during peak weeks, so it suits those who want an active social base. We think it offers the best balance of cost and atmosphere for independent holidaymakers.
• Malia Coast: Malia on the north coast of Crete combines long sandy beaches with a compact resort centre that is simple to explore without a car. Mid-range hotels here often price rooms competitively in shoulder months, and the town has a good spread of tavernas for dining alone. The island's main airport is around an hour away by road, which is a reasonable journey for the value you receive, the same kind of brief our Santorini holidays deals are built around. Malia is a sensible choice when you want a resort that feels social but not overwhelming.
• Hersonissos Resorts: Hersonissos is a resort town on Crete's north coast, close to the main airport and well served by coaches and taxis for day trips. Its accommodation range is broad, which gives solo travellers plenty of choice at different price points. The town can feel busy in July and August, so travelling in late spring or early autumn tends to lower both the price and the crowd level. We see it as a dependable base for those who want variety within easy reach. It is exactly the brief our Greece All Inclusive Holidays deals are built around.
• Kos Town: Kos Town offers a flat, walkable centre with a harbour, a castle and a good number of inexpensive restaurants, which suits solo travellers on a budget. The island is linked to other Greek destinations by flights and ferries, giving flexible onward options. Beaches are a short distance away at Tigaki and Mastichari, though you will need a taxi or bus to reach them. Kos Town is a strong budget base for a solo trip that mixes culture and sea. It is exactly the brief our Greece Family Holidays deals are built around.
