Last Minute Holidays to Greece in September

Resort-based stays suit travellers who want a beach, a pool and easy evenings without planning every day.

• Kassiopi: Looking for last minute resorts in September? The island's quieter shoulder-season months are ideal for a relaxed escape, and the Ipsos area offers a lovely blend of golden beaches, family-friendly tavernas and easy access to the historic sights nearby. With warm sea temperatures and fewer crowds, September is one of the best times to book a late package holiday, with flights, transfers and protected accommodation arranged in one simple booking, the same brief our Greece Last Minute Holidays deals are built around.
• Faliraki: Faliraki sits on the east coast of the Dodecanese island, roughly fifteen kilometres from the island's main town, and offers a long sandy beach with plenty of resort facilities. It works well for last minute bookings because hotel stock is large, which often means more options at short notice, the same brief our Greece All Inclusive Holidays deals are built around. The downside is that the main strip can feel busy in the evenings, so we recommend it for travellers who enjoy an energetic resort.
• Malia: Malia on the north coast of the island has sandy beaches and a wide range of family-friendly resorts within a short drive of the town. September is a sensible time to visit because the sea is warm and the heat is less intense than in midsummer. Travellers should allow for road transfers from the island's main airport, which takes time in the middle of the day, but the resort offers good value for a week by the sea.
• Ixia: Ixia is a resort area sitting just beyond the island's historic capital, with a shallow, gently shelving beach that suits younger children. Hotels here are typically low-rise and close to the water, which keeps walking distances short. The area feels less crowded than the busier party resorts further along the coast, so it appeals to families and couples who want resort comfort with a more relaxed pace, the same brief our Cheap Greece Holidays deals are built around. Easy access to the medieval Old Town by bus or taxi means a day of sightseeing is never far away.
• Agia Marina: Agia Marina on the north coast of the island has a long promenade and a sheltered bay that works well for relaxed stays. It sits a short drive from the historic harbour nearby, giving you both a beach base and an easy day out. The resort is quieter than the big island centres, which makes it a good choice for travellers who want good value without giving up access to culture, the same brief our Greece Adults Only Holidays deals are built around.
