Package Holidays to Morocco

The most established places to base a package trip, each with its own character and strengths.

• Agadir: Agadir is the main package-holiday resort on the Atlantic coast, built around a long sandy bay and a promenade that suits families and sun-seekers. Its airport, Agadir Al Massira, is the main gateway, which keeps transfers short compared with inland destinations. The trade-off is that the resort feels more modern and planned than the old cities, so you give up medina character for reliable beach facilities. We think it is the strongest choice when sunshine and simplicity matter more than atmosphere. Morocco All Inclusive Holidays suit guests who want meals and drinks covered in this setting.
• Marrakech: Marrakech is the classic Moroccan city break, centred on a walled medina, the Jemaa el-Fnaa square and riads with roof terraces. It sits at the foot of the Atlas Mountains and is served by Marrakech Menara Airport, making it one of the most accessible imperial cities for UK travellers. Expect busy streets and a lot of walking through souks, and choose your riad with care for quieter courtyards. For culture, food and nightlife within one city, it remains our most frequently booked choice. Cheap Morocco Holidays are often found by travelling in the quieter months.
• Essaouira: Essaouira is a fortified seaside town with a UNESCO-listed medina, a working harbour and windy beaches that attract windsurfers and kitesurfers. It sits a few hours by road from the bustling inland city of Morocco's imperial south, so it works best as a second stop rather than a first base for those new to Morocco. The pace is noticeably slower than the inland cities, which many guests find restful after a busy week. We recommend it for travellers who want the coast without giving up a sense of place.
• Fes: Fes el-Bali is one of the largest car-free urban areas in the world, and its medina holds the Al-Qarawiyyin mosque and university along with the famous tanneries. It is the most historic of the imperial cities and a centre of traditional craftsmanship, so it suits travellers who want depth rather than a quick tour. The narrow lanes are demanding to navigate without a guide, which we factor into how we recommend stays here. It is well connected by rail to the economic capital on the Atlantic coast and to the northern coast beyond.
• Casablanca: Casablanca is Morocco's largest port and main commercial city, and it is the usual arrival point for ferry and cruise-linked travel rather than a classic resort. Its mosque on the Atlantic coast is one of the largest in the world and is open to visitors outside prayer times with guided tours. The city is more modern and less touristic than the imperial inland cities, which suits business-minded or practical trips. We position it as a useful base for travellers who want an urban stay with easy rail links.
