Morocco Holidays in February

In February the coast is best for walking and fresh-air breaks rather than swimming, so choose resorts that suit a mild-weather shoreline.

• Bay: Beach Resorts in February on Corfu offer a surprisingly mild escape from the UK winter, with average daytime temperatures often reaching the mid-teens Celsius. Travellers who choose Gouvia, on the island's north-east coast, will find a sheltered marina, a long promenade and a relaxed local atmosphere that suits couples and families alike. Quieter shoulder-season beaches, fewer crowds and lower prices make February an ideal time to explore the Greek coastline before the summer rush begins, and it is the same kind of flexible, well-planned brief our Morocco Last Minute Holidays deals are built around.
• Oualidia: Oualidia is a small lagoon town on the Atlantic coast near El Jadida, known for its oysters and calm, shallow waters. In February the lagoon offers a quiet setting for seafood lunches and gentle walks, with far fewer visitors than the main resorts. It is not a place for beach holidays in winter, but it is a good match for travellers who want a peaceful coastal base with excellent seafood. It is exactly the brief our Morocco Beach Holidays deals are built around.
• Beaches: The coastline beside this historic Moroccan port offers wide, windy sands, and February's strong Atlantic breezes make the shore better suited to brisk walks than to sunbathing. The old walled town sits within easy reach of the sand, so days can be split between the sea and the medina. Travellers who enjoy coastal character and calmer streets will find it a rewarding February base, though those seeking warm sea swims should look elsewhere.
• Asilah: Asilah is a small whitewashed fortified town on the Atlantic coast, just a short distance north of the country's major port city, and its February climate is mild and calm compared with the windier southern beaches. The town's colourful murals and sea-facing ramparts make for pleasant strolls, and the quieter pace suits couples and slow travellers. It is a relaxed coastal stop rather than a swimming resort in winter, which is exactly why it works well this month.
• Marina Smir: Marina Smir is a Mediterranean marina on the northern Moroccan coast, close to Tetouan and nearby beaches. The Mediterranean side is generally a little milder than the Atlantic in February, which makes the marina a practical base for sailing and harbour walks. It works best for travellers who want a quiet coastal setting with a different character from the Atlantic resorts, though you should expect few beach-only facilities this time of year.
