Holidays from Glasgow to Thailand are package trips that combine your flights, transfers and accommodation into one booking with us, giving you a single point of contact throughout. Because there are no direct flights from the UK, the journey usually involves a single connection, and the total travel time is typically around a full working day.

Thailand suits a wide range of travellers, from city explorers enjoying temples and street food to beach-lovers on the Andaman coast and calm family stays near national parks. The country blends big-city culture with jungle and mountain scenery in the north and tropical island resorts in the south. Each region has its own pace, so the right choice depends on whether you want lively nightlife, quiet bays or a relaxed base for day trips. Go early.

Booking through us means your holiday is planned around the practical details that matter most on a long-haul trip. We check the flight connection, the transfer from your arrival airport to your resort and the timing of your return, so there are no unexpected gaps in your itinerary. We also look at the best season for your chosen region, because the dry months and the monsoon period affect island travel and the excursions you can enjoy. Aim wide.

Why Book Holidays from Glasgow to Thailand

Varied landscapes

The country moves from the mountains around Chiang Mai to the limestone karsts of Krabi within a single trip. Each region feels distinct, so you rarely run out of new scenery. Travellers often comment that the contrast is the highlight.

Temple heritage

Bangkok's Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha sit at the centre of the Thai capital. Ayutthaya, the former capital, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site about 80 km north of Bangkok. Together these sites tell a long story of Siamese kingdoms.

Island choice

Phuket, Krabi and Koh Samui offer very different island characters within easy reach of one another. Phuket is the largest island and has an airport with direct flights from Bangkok. Koh Samui has its own airport, which keeps resort transfers simple.

Food culture

Street food is central to daily life, and dishes such as pad Thai and som tam are sold almost everywhere. Northern specialities like khao soi show how regional the cooking can be. Eating well here rarely costs a great deal.

Easy internal travel

Bangkok is served by the BTS Skytrain and MRT metro, which make city days straightforward. Domestic flights link the capital with island and northern airports. Longer journeys by train or bus are also well established, and most routes run daily across the country, giving you flexibility to adjust plans as you travel.

Range for every budget

You can spend freely on boutique resorts or keep costs modest with guesthouses and local eating. The variety of stays means you can match the trip to your budget. Our team will explain what each option includes before you commit.

Your Guide to Holidays from Glasgow to Thailand

There are no direct flights from Glasgow to Thailand, so every route involves a connection, and we build these into your package.

Bangkok Suvarnabhumi: Most Glasgow travellers connect through a hub before arriving at Suvarnabhumi, which is the main international gateway for the country. From there the Airport Rail Link and taxis serve the city centre, so you can reach your hotel without a long wait. We recommend arriving with a planned transfer rather than hailing a cab at the terminal, as this avoids disputes over fares and keeps your first evening simple.
Don Mueang Airport: Don Mueang is the capital's second airport and is used by some budget and domestic connections. It sits further north of the city than the main international terminal, so the journey into central districts can take noticeably longer, especially at peak times. We check which airport your connection uses and build the transfer time into your itinerary so that your onward flight or resort transfer is never rushed.
Phuket International Airport: Phuket has its own international airport, Phuket International Airport, with direct domestic flights from the capital, which makes it a practical option once you have landed in the country. Transfers from the airport to the beaches on the west and south coast are typically short, and this suits travellers who want a beach base without a long road journey, the same brief our Thailand Adults Only Holidays deals are built around. Because connections to the island run through the capital, we allow sufficient time between flights.
Koh Samui Airport: The island has its own airport with direct flights from the capital, so travellers do not need to take a ferry from the mainland to reach the resorts. This simplifies the final leg of the journey for families and couples carrying heavy luggage. We pair this route with a transfer to your chosen beach, and we always confirm flight times with you before departure rather than assuming a fixed schedule.
Krabi Airport: Krabi Airport sits on the mainland and links straight to the resort strip along the western shore, with the boat routes out to Railay departing from that same stretch of coast. The road journey from the airport is usually quick, but the onward boat to Railay adds a short crossing that needs planning around tides and luggage. We set out this sequence clearly so you know exactly what to expect on arrival.

Thailand's beach resorts range from lively bays with nightlife to quiet stretches of sand, and each one suits a different kind of holiday.

Patong Beach: Patong Beach is the busiest stretch of coastline on the island, with a wide choice of hotels, restaurants and bars along its main strip. It is a strong choice for travellers who want energy, late dining and easy access to shops, although the sand itself can feel crowded in peak months. We often recommend it to first-time visitors who value convenience above seclusion. Thailand Beach Holidays
Ao Nang: Ao Nang is the main resort strip on the coast of southern Thailand's Andaman side, lined with a good range of hotels and casual restaurants close to the sand. It offers easy access to island boat trips and makes a practical base for travellers who want beaches and organised excursions in one place. The town is busier than some quieter bays, so it suits those who enjoy a social atmosphere.
Kata Beach: Kata is a smaller, calmer beach on the island's south-west coast, with a more relaxed feel than the busier centres and a good swimming area when conditions are settled. It is well suited to families and couples who want beach views and a short walk to dining without constant noise. We find it works well for guests who prefer a middle path between quiet seclusion and the busier centres.
Hua Hin: Hua Hin lies on the Gulf of Thailand, south of the capital, and has a long-established beach resort with a traditional, unhurried character. It is reached by road or rail from the capital, which makes it a sensible option for a relaxed stay after a city visit. Its atmosphere is calmer than the Andaman coast resorts, so it attracts those who want a gentle beach holiday.
Khao Lak: Khao Lak has calm, gently shelving beaches and quieter resorts that are particularly well suited to families. It sits near Khao Sok National Park, so guests can combine a beach stay with rainforest excursions. The area is less built-up than the main island resort areas, and we recommend it for travellers who want space and a slower rhythm. Thailand Family Holidays
