Cheap Holidays to Thailand in October

Resort stays on the mainland and the Gulf side offer some of the most reliable value when the monsoon is active on the western coast.

• Khao Lak: Cheap resorts in October on Corfu are a smart choice for UK travellers who want warm sea, quieter beaches and lower prices once the summer crowds have headed home. October still brings pleasant temperatures, often around 24 to 26 degrees, making Roda on the north-east coast a relaxed base with family-friendly tavernas, a long sandy beach and easy access to the wider island. Budget-conscious holidaymakers will find that many hotels offer sharp shoulder-season rates, so it is worth comparing packages with flights and transfers included. It is exactly the brief our Thailand Family Holidays deals are built around.
• Hua Hin: Hua Hin sits on the Gulf of Thailand coast, which receives a different rainfall pattern from the Andaman side, making it a sensible alternative when western islands are at their wettest. It is a few hours by road from the capital, so transfers add a little time but are straightforward to arrange. Resort rates here are typically moderate, and the town offers a relaxed atmosphere for an affordable stay. The same easy-going brief our Thailand Adults Only Holidays deals are built around, it suits couples and older travellers looking for genuine value.
• Chumphon: Chumphon is a quieter Gulf coast town that tends to receive less attention from visitors, which keeps accommodation costs lower than the headline resort areas. It works well as a base for travellers who want to reach the islands by boat while paying mainland prices. Facilities are simpler, so the stay is best suited to those who value space and calm over a full resort programme. It is a good pick for a budget trip that stays away from crowds.
• Ban Phe: Ban Phe is a small port town on the eastern seaboard that serves as the departure point for ferries to Koh Samet, making it a practical option for a cheap October break. Guesthouses here are modest and generally inexpensive compared with large beach resorts. The town is less polished, so you should expect simple beachfront amenities. We recommend it for shorter stays where the island trip is the main draw.
• Koh Yao Noi: Koh Yao Noi is a quiet island in Phang Nga Bay, situated between Phuket and Krabi, and it offers low-key guesthouses that keep costs well below those of the busiest resort areas. The island is less developed, so the trade-off is limited nightlife and fewer large hotels. Its scenic villages and beaches suit a low-budget stay that prioritises tranquillity. We find it one of the better value options for travellers who are happy with a simple setting.
