Holidays from Glasgow to Morocco

Glasgow departures reach Morocco on routes we confirm for each season, and the destination airport shapes how quickly you get to your first stop.

• Marrakech: Flights from Glasgow to the main gateway typically take around three and a half to four and a half hours, depending on the departure schedule. From the airport, taxis are the usual transfer into the city centre, and we advise agreeing the fare in advance or insisting on the meter. The trade-off is that the medina can be busy in the evenings, so a riad a short walk from the central square suits those who want atmosphere, while a quieter base suits those who prefer rest. We recommend this gateway for first-time visitors who want souks, rooftop terraces and a short flight. It is exactly the brief our Morocco holidays deals are built around.
• Agadir: Agadir is served by its own airport, which sits a short drive from the resort strip and suits travellers who want beach time from the first day. Transfers from the airport to the seafront are generally quick, so less of your holiday is spent in transit. The resort is calmer and more modern than the imperial cities, which means fewer historic lanes but a long sandy bay and a promenade for evening walks. We think this coastal base is the right choice for families and sun-seekers who want straightforward flights and an easy airport transfer. It is exactly the brief our Cheap Morocco Holidays deals are built around.
• Fes: Fes is reached through its own airport, and most travellers from Glasgow connect by road or train to reach the old city, which keeps the trip interesting from arrival. The medina of its old quarter is one of the largest car-free urban areas in the world, so you will walk or use a guide rather than drive once you arrive. Expect a slower transfer than the coastal resorts, with the reward being a deeper look at the craft quarters and historic university. We would suggest this city for travellers who value history and are happy to trade a shorter journey for a more immersive city break.
• Casablanca: Casablanca is the country's largest city and main commercial hub, which makes it a practical arrival point and a good place to start a rail-based itinerary. Trains run from here to the capital, the imperial cities and the northern port, so you can link several destinations without renting a car. The mosque on the Atlantic coast is one of the largest in the world, and guided tours are offered outside prayer times. The city is less atmospheric than the imperial centres, but it works well as an efficient base for a multi-city route.
• Tangier: Tangier sits near the Strait of Gibraltar, close to the point where Africa comes nearest Europe, and it is linked by rail to the great Atlantic metropolis on the western coast and to the imperial city further inland. Its major port has ferry links to Spain, which gives the city a distinctive crossroads character. The trade-off is that the city is busier and more commercial than the smaller coastal towns, so it suits travellers who want an urban start to a longer tour, the same brief our Morocco Adults Only Holidays deals are built around. We recommend it as the northern gateway in a trip that also takes in the blue-painted hill town and the whitewashed walled harbour town.
