Honeymoon Holidays to Greece

Coastal stays that favour small hotels, private terraces and sea views give couples a refined base for slow mornings by the water.

• Ixia, Rhodes: Ixia lies on the north-east coast of Rhodes and is a short drive from the medieval Old Town, which gives couples the chance to combine historic streets with a quieter bay. Its sandy shoreline and resort facilities make it a sensible choice for a honeymoon that wants comfort alongside a sea view. The Old Town is a taxi ride away, so evenings can be planned around a walk through the walled streets. Ixia is less intimate than a small island hotel, but it offers polished service and easy access to the wider island. It is exactly the brief our Rhodes holidays deals are built around.
• Paros west coast: Paros is quieter than the more famous islands of the Cyclades, and its sandy west coast offers a calmer alternative to the busier resorts. The traditional harbour town on the island is its main settlement and offers good restaurants and a relaxed evening pace. Ferries link the island with the capital's main port, so the journey from Athens is straightforward, though timetables tighten outside summer. Couples who want the Cycladic look without the crowds often find this island the right balance. Greece sun-and-sea holidays suit couples who want sand and sea in equal measure. It is exactly the brief our Greece Beach Holidays deals are built around.
• Corfu's east coast: Corfu has golden shorelines on both its east and west coasts, and the east side offers sheltered coves that feel secluded early in the day. The island's main town brings Venetian heritage and a fortress overlooking the water, which is an appealing setting for an evening stroll after a day in the sun. Flights from several UK airports make the island easy to reach, though the coast is busier in summer. For couples who want greenery and sea in equal measure, the island is a strong choice. It is exactly the brief our Corfu holidays deals are built around.
• Milos south coast: Milos is a volcanic island with coloured rock formations and sandy shores that are quieter than those on its more famous neighbours. Its south coast has calm bays and small villages where restaurants serve fish with a local character. Ferries connect the island with the Athens port area, and the journey takes longer than the flight routes to bigger islands, which keeps visitor numbers modest. For couples who prefer character over spectacle, it is one of the most rewarding boutique coastal stays in the Cyclades, the same brief our Cheap Greece Holidays deals are built around.
• Kastellorizo harbour: Kastellorizo is the easternmost Greek island and sits close to the Turkish coast, reached by a ferry from Rhodes. Its colourful harbour is small and seldom crowded, so couples can enjoy an evening meal on the front without queuing. Few visitors make the journey, which means limited hotel choice but a genuinely unhurried setting. It suits a honeymoon where the destination is the point, and we recommend planning ferry times carefully since sailings are less frequent than on larger routes.
