Anniversary Holidays to Croatia

Walled and waterfront towns give couples cobbled lanes, sea views and evenings that unfold slowly.

• Hvar Town: Hvar Town is a strong choice for a romantic anniversary, with a harbour lined with bars and restaurants and a fortress that overlooks the water at sunset. Getting there is simple: a short sea crossing by ferry from the mainland port rather than a long drive. It can be lively in peak season, so we suggest booking a table early and choosing a room away from the main waterfront if you want quiet nights, the same brief our Croatia Last Minute Holidays deals are built around. For many couples the sunset from the fortress alone justifies the trip.
• Rovinj: Rovinj is an Istrian old town built on a peninsula, with cobbled streets, seafront restaurants and the Church of St Euphemia rising above the rooftops. Its compact centre means you can walk from your room to dinner without a taxi, which suits a slow, romantic stay. The trade-off is that it is smaller than the cities further south, so there are fewer late-night options. We think that is exactly the appeal for a quiet celebration.
• Korcula: Korcula is a walled island town, reached by ferry from Orebic and from the famous walled city further south along the Dalmatian coast, and it is traditionally linked to the birthplace claim of Marco Polo. Its pace is calmer than that busier southern neighbour, and its harbour restaurants make an easy setting for an evening out. Ferry timetables are the main planning point, so we check sailing times against your dates before confirming. It rewards couples who want history without the crowds of the busiest walled cities. Consider a Croatia holidays package that includes the crossing.
• Trogir: Trogir is a small medieval town on an island with a UNESCO-listed historic centre, sitting a short drive from the regional hub next door. Its stone lanes and waterfront cafés suit a couple looking for a day of wandering and a relaxed dinner. Because it lies so close to that neighbouring city, you can base yourself there and still spend an evening in the old town. We recommend it as a gentle, atmospheric addition to a longer stay.
• Motovun: Motovun is a hilltop medieval town set among vineyards and celebrated for its truffle and wine culture. Its sweeping countryside views and quiet streets make it a lovely choice for couples seeking rural romance rather than seaside bustle. Getting there usually means hiring a car, as the inland part of this peninsula is not well served by public transport. We think it pairs beautifully with a coastal stay for a varied anniversary trip.
