Couples Holidays to Morocco

Our strongest couples options combine character accommodation with easy access to the places that matter most on a romantic trip.

• Marrakech: Marrakech is the obvious starting point for couples who want the classic blend of souks, riads and imperial history. Traditional riads are courtyard houses, many converted into boutique hotels with roof terraces, offering a quiet retreat inside the bustling medina. We recommend staying within the walled old town so you can walk to the evening square and return to a calm courtyard afterwards. The trade-off is that medina streets are busy and not always suited to a car, so we arrange transfers from the airport to the riad door. It is exactly the brief our Morocco holidays deals are built around.
• Essaouira: Essaouira is a fortified seaside town with a slower rhythm than the imperial cities, which suits couples who want walks along the ramparts and long seafood dinners. Its medina sits within walking distance of the harbour, where fishing boats come and go beside the seafood market. The town is windier and less polished than the imperial cities, and that is precisely its appeal for travellers seeking a relaxed coastal break.
• Fes: Fes suits couples with a serious interest in history and craftsmanship, offering a deep medina experience centred on the historic Al-Qarawiyyin mosque and university. The old city is one of the largest car-free urban areas in the world, so you explore on foot through narrow lanes and craft quarters. It is a more demanding city to navigate than the others, so we recommend a riad with a guide for the first morning.
• Chefchaouen: Chefchaouen is a mountain town in the Rif Mountains, famed for its blue-washed medina and quieter pace than the imperial cities. Couples tend to favour it for evening walks through the lanes and slow mornings with mountain views. Because it sits in the hills, the journey takes longer, usually by bus from the coastal city nearby or from the imperial city further south, and we factor that travel time into the itinerary.
• Merzouga: Merzouga is the gateway to the Erg Chebbi dunes, and an overnight desert camp here is one of the most romantic experiences Morocco offers. Camps typically include dune views, camel treks and stargazing in a remote setting far from city lights. The journey is long and the camps are basic compared with a city riad, so we advise booking this as a single night within a wider trip.
