Couples Holidays to Thailand

The resorts below are the ones we most often recommend when two people want comfort, privacy and a setting that feels made for a romantic stay.

• Phuket: Phuket is Thailand's largest island and offers the widest choice of hotels for couples, from boutique beachfront properties to larger resorts with spas and sunset bars. The main beaches are within a short drive of most accommodation, so you can easily move between quieter bays and livelier stretches. Couples who want a resort with plenty to do between dinners will find this island the most flexible choice. We recommend staying on the western coast for the best sunsets and booking a room with a sea view. It is exactly the brief our Thailand Beach Holidays deals are built around.
• Krabi: Krabi is a strong pick for couples who want dramatic scenery alongside a relaxed beach stay, the same brief our Cheap Thailand Holidays deals are built around. Limestone cliffs rise straight out of the water, and the resorts around the main bay are a short ride from the boats that reach the more secluded coves. Many couples enjoy a sunrise kayak trip before the day-trippers arrive. We suggest choosing a resort on the quieter side of the bay if you want evenings that feel private rather than busy.
• Koh Samui: Koh Samui has a well-established resort scene and an airport with direct flights from the capital, which makes getting there straightforward. Its beaches are lined with hotels that suit couples, many with private pool villas and spa treatments. The island is a good base for a slower pace, with boat trips and cooking classes available nearby. We find it works best for couples who want comfort and convenience rather than a remote island feel. • Chiang Mai: Chiang Mai offers a cooler, mountain-influenced base for couples who prefer culture to sunbathing. The old walled city has guesthouses and boutique hotels with courtyard gardens, and evenings are spent wandering night markets and small restaurants. Couples often pair a stay here with a visit to nearby hills for a quieter kind of romance. We recommend it for a trip where you want to talk, eat well and explore slowly together.
• Khao Lak: Khao Lak has calm, gently shelving beaches and quieter resorts that are equally suited to couples seeking peace. It sits near a large national park, so a jungle excursion can fit neatly into a relaxed stay. The atmosphere is less lively than the busiest southern resort areas, which many couples prefer for long unhurried days. We suggest it for those who want a beach holiday without the nightlife crowds.
