February Half Term to Morocco

These bases combine beach access, manageable distances and easy transfers, which suit families travelling together during the school break.

• Taghazout: Taghazout offers a laid-back fishing village setting with gentle surf beaches that suit families looking for a relaxed seaside base. The resort area has a good range of family-friendly cafés, low-rise accommodation and sheltered coves, and Morocco Family Holidays are well served by its nearby airport, so transfers are quick after landing. Children can paddle in the calmer sections and build sandcastles while parents unwind at a beachfront terrace. We recommend it as a charming, practical family choice for a half-term holiday.
• Good to know: This seaside town suits families who want a gentler pace, with harbour views, walks along the ramparts and watching the fishing boats come in. The old quarter is within walking distance, so days can be planned without relying on taxis. It is quieter than the big cities, which many families find easier to manage with younger children. We suggest it for families seeking a calmer, more relaxed alternative to a busy resort.
• Sidi Ifni: Set apart from the busier resorts of the coast, the coastal town of Sidi Ifni offers a relaxed and charming setting for families seeking a quieter Morocco break, the same brief our Morocco All Inclusive Holidays deals are built around. Its whitewashed Art Deco buildings and colourful painted walls give children plenty to spot as they wander, while the gentle pace of the old town keeps outings manageable. Nearby sandy beaches are well suited to paddling and sandcastle building, and many guesthouses are happy to accommodate young travellers. It suits families who want a calm seaside base with a touch of local character.
• Casablanca: Casablanca is Morocco's largest city and main commercial centre, with rail links that make it easy to reach other imperial cities. The Hassan II Mosque on the Atlantic coast offers guided tours outside prayer times, and its scale impresses older children. The city is more urban than the coastal resorts, so it suits families who enjoy a mix of sightseeing and modern amenities. We suggest it for a short city stay within a wider family itinerary.
• Tangier: Tangier sits near the Strait of Gibraltar, and its rail and ferry connections make it a practical stop for families travelling between Morocco and Spain. The city offers a mix of coastal scenery and historic streets that suit mixed-age groups. Transfers are generally straightforward, though traffic can be busy in the centre. We recommend it for families wanting a coastal city with easy onward travel options.
