Summer Holidays to Morocco

These bases combine beach access, gentle pace and facilities that suit children, which is why they feature most often in our family programme.

• Cabo Negro: Cabo Negro is a quiet, family-friendly seaside village on the Mediterranean coast, a short hop from the historic medina city of the Moroccan north. It offers calm bays, shallow water and a relaxed atmosphere that suits younger children. Its small, unhurried setting means shorter journeys between the sand, cafes and accommodation, and plenty of space to play. Families who prefer a slower pace than the larger resorts often find it a welcome change for a school-holiday week. Our Morocco Family Holidays range is a good place to compare family options.
• Essaouira: Essaouira is a gentler family option, with a fortified seaside town, a working harbour and walks along the ramparts. The pace is slower than the inland cities and the beaches are windy, which suits older children and families who want a calmer week. We value it for its quieter streets and easy access to the harbour.
• Casablanca: Casablanca is Morocco's largest city and a practical base for families who want a city experience with the Atlantic close by. The Hassan II Mosque is a striking visit that children often find memorable. It is less of a traditional seaside-resort destination than the southern coast, so we recommend it for families who enjoy urban exploration.
• Taghazout: Taghazout offers family-friendly outings along its sheltered sandy coves, where children can paddle, build sandcastles and try gentle surf lessons with local instructors. The village is relaxed and walkable, with cafes and fresh seafood within easy reach of the sand, the same brief our Cheap Morocco Holidays deals are built around. Mornings are the best time for activities, as the afternoon sun can be strong, and the laid-back pace suits families who want a sea-focused break rather than a busy urban setting.
• Tangier: Tangier sits near the Strait of Gibraltar and is well connected by train to other imperial cities, which makes travel easier with children. Its coastal setting is cooler than the interior in summer. We suggest it for families who want a mix of city life and easy onward journeys.
