Holidays to Morocco under £1000

Beach resorts give the most predictable budgets, because hotel supply is large and transfers are short.

• Agadir: Agadir is the main package-holiday resort on the Atlantic coast, built around a long sandy bay and a palm-lined promenade. Because it is served directly by its own airport, transfers are short and inexpensive, which protects the budget for food and excursions. Hotel stock is deep, so there is usually room to choose a mid-range property rather than the cheapest option. We recommend shoulder months for this resort, when rates are lower and the coast remains comfortable. Explore more options under Morocco holidays.
• Taghazout: Taghazout is a small fishing village a short drive north of the main resort, known for its laid-back surf culture and rocky coves. Its guesthouses and smaller hotels typically cost less than larger resort properties, which makes it a strong choice for a tight budget. The trade-off is fewer shops and nightlife, so you should plan on day trips for variety, the same brief our Morocco Adults Only Holidays deals are built around. We suggest it for travellers who value the coastline over resort facilities.
• Essaouira: Essaouira sits a few hours' drive along the coast from Marrakech, offering a fortified seaside town with a compact medina and fishing harbour. Accommodation here ranges from modest riads to simple beachfront hotels, and many offer good value outside the summer peak. Wind is a near-constant feature, which suits windsurfers but can be less comfortable for sunbathers. We rate it highly for budget travellers who want character without paying resort premiums, the same brief our Morocco Last Minute Holidays deals are built around.
• Mohammedia: Mohammedia is a port city on the Atlantic coast, close to the commercial capital, with a corniche and several sandy beaches. It is less visited by package holidaymakers, so hotels are often priced below the main resorts. The main drawback is that it lacks the sunshine-resort infrastructure of the larger coastal towns, so it suits independent travellers rather than those seeking a full resort experience, though the same brief our Morocco All Inclusive Holidays deals are built around would make it a natural fit for a shorter, self-guided break. We see it as a useful alternative when the main resort is fully booked or costs rise sharply.
• Saidia: Saidia is a resort on the Mediterranean coast near the Algerian border, with long beaches and a growing hotel base. Its distance from the Atlantic coast and the main imperial cities means transfers are longer, which needs to be weighed against lower room rates. In quieter months, it can represent excellent value for families. We recommend checking the total transfer time before committing, as this is where the budget can shift.
