Cheap Holidays from Birmingham to Morocco

Resorts on the Atlantic coast and inland cities give Birmingham travellers the best mix of value and accessible facilities.

• Essaouira: Essaouira sits on the Atlantic coast and is a fortified seaside town with a compact medina that is easy to explore on foot. Its beaches are windy, which suits windsurfing but can feel cool on some days, so the trade-off is a quieter pace rather than sunbathing comfort. Accommodation here tends to be modest in price, which keeps the overall package affordable for a relaxed coastal break. We see it as excellent value for travellers who want harbour views and seafood without paying premium resort rates.
• Marrakech: Marrakech is the most-visited imperial city, with a walled medina, the Jemaa el-Fnaa square and the Majorelle Garden within walking reach of many stays. Riads and hotels cover a broad price range, so budget travellers can find central accommodation without paying a premium for atmosphere. The city does require some navigation of crowded souks, which is part of its appeal but can be tiring when temperatures climb in the hottest months of the year. We think it offers strong value for a short city stay built around culture and food, and it is a popular starting point for Morocco holidays.
• Fes: Fes is the oldest of the imperial cities and holds the car-free Fes el-Bali medina, one of the largest of its kind in the world. Its accommodation is often more affordable than the coastal options, and the train link to the country's largest commercial hub and the northern port city makes onward travel simple. The medina's narrow lanes take time to learn, so the trade-off is a slower, more immersive stay rather than a beach-focused one. For history lovers on a tight budget, we rate it as one of the best-value bases in the country.
• Chefchaouen: Chefchaouen is a mountain town in the Rif range famed for its blue-painted medina and quiet lanes. It is reached by bus from the coastal city and from the imperial city further south, so the final leg adds travel time, which is worth weighing against the lower room rates you can find here. The setting is calm and walkable, suiting photographers and slow travellers who want a quieter stop. We recommend it for budget-conscious visitors who value scenery over nightlife.
• Agadir: Agadir is a modern beach resort with a long stretch of golden sand and a seafront promenade, and it is the main package-holiday resort on the Atlantic coast. Its hotels and facilities are plentiful, so healthy competition keeps prices sensible for families and sun-seekers. The town is more functional than charming, which is the trade-off for reliable sunshine and resort convenience. We see it as the strongest choice when a straightforward, low-fuss beach holiday is the priority, and it suits families looking for Morocco all inclusive holidays.
