February Half Term to Thailand

These resort areas combine child-friendly facilities with easy travel links, so families can spend the week without long daily journeys.

• Pattaya: Pattaya lies on the Gulf coast around two hours from the capital by road, which makes it an accessible option for families arriving through the main city. The area has several water parks and attractions suited to children, alongside beach areas that are easy to reach from the hotels. We recommend Pattaya for a lively, activity-filled half-term week with plenty for younger travellers. Thailand Family Holidays here often include kids' clubs and pools.
• Mai Khao: Mai Khao beach on the northern coast of the island is a wide, sandy stretch backed by casuarina trees, and its gently sloping shoreline suits young swimmers building confidence in open water. The surrounding area is far less crowded than the busier resort strips further south, so evenings feel unhurried and restful for parents. Family resorts here focus on space, shade and a shorter list of daily commitments, making Mai Khao a good choice for families who prioritise a peaceful beach. Thailand Last Minute Holidays sometimes appear here at short notice.
• Koh Chang: Koh Chang offers a range of family resorts with sandy shorelines, freshwater pools and organised activities, and its ferry links from the mainland make it easy to reach from Trat. The island's dry-season weather makes outdoor days more reliable across the week. We suggest Koh Chang for families who want a quieter island pace, resort convenience and a broad choice of accommodation styles. Thailand Luxury Holidays are also on offer at several of its higher-end properties.
• Family stays: The seaside resorts on this Thai island range from large family hotels to smaller properties set back from the sand, giving parents a wide choice of pace and price. The island's airport and road network make day trips to nearby coastal spots simple to arrange. We recommend it for families who want flexibility and plenty of options for children of different ages. Thailand Family Holidays here can be tailored to suit a range of budgets.
• Ao Nang: Ao Nang is a resort town on Thailand's Andaman coast, with a broad beach, a compact centre and quick boat links to the islands offshore. Its walkable layout suits families who prefer short distances between the hotel, the beach and dinner. We recommend Ao Nang for a practical base with a relaxed, sociable feel during the half-term weeks. Thailand Beach Holidays are easy to combine with a short boat excursion.
