Booking with Travelodeal means paying for one package bundling flights, transfers and accommodation, so we handle your money from payment until you return home. Our ATOL and ABTA protection gives you real peace of mind throughout your trip. Read the terms carefully and ask us anything before you pay. Be completely open. Plan ahead with confidence.

Thailand suits families who want warm sea temperatures, big-city energy and a choice of quieter coastal bases. The country offers beaches and islands in the south, mountain scenery and temple culture in the north and a capital that rewards a few days' exploration. Summer is not the peak season everywhere, so we help you weigh rainfall and humidity against the islands you most want to visit, keeping your family's pace and interests in mind. Go early.

The reason to book this trip through us is that we check each element before it reaches your basket. We review resort locations, transfer times and airport connections so that a long journey does not eat into your holiday, and we build packages that keep flights and accommodation aligned. Our team looks at which islands and coasts are most settled in summer and steers families away from routes that are poorly suited to young children. Aim wide.

Why Book Summer Holidays to Thailand

Varied landscapes

The country moves from the mountains around Chiang Mai to the limestone karsts of Krabi within a single trip. Each region feels distinct, so you rarely run out of new scenery. Travellers often comment that the contrast is the highlight.

Temple heritage

Bangkok's Grand Palace and the Temple of the Emerald Buddha sit at the centre of the Thai capital. Ayutthaya, the former capital, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site about 80 km north of Bangkok. Together these sites tell a long story of Siamese kingdoms.

Island choice

Phuket, Krabi and Koh Samui offer very different island characters within easy reach of one another. Phuket is the largest island and has an airport with direct flights from Bangkok. Koh Samui has its own airport, which keeps resort transfers simple.

Food culture

Street food is central to daily life, and dishes such as pad Thai and som tam are sold almost everywhere. Northern specialities like khao soi show how regional the cooking can be. Eating well here rarely costs a great deal.

Easy internal travel

Bangkok is served by the BTS Skytrain and MRT metro, which make city days straightforward. Domestic flights link the capital with island and northern airports. Longer journeys by train or bus are also well established, and most routes run daily across the country, giving you flexibility to adjust plans as you travel.

Range for every budget

You can spend freely on boutique resorts or keep costs modest with guesthouses and local eating. The variety of stays means you can match the trip to your budget. Our team will explain what each option includes before you commit.

Your Guide to Summer Holidays to Thailand

Bangkok, Thailand

Pattaya, Thailand

Thailand's summer warmth is strongest inland and in the east, so these places give you dependable heat for the school break.

Bangkok: Bangkok is the most reliable place to find consistent heat during summer, with high temperatures and humidity that suit sightseeing when you start early. The city's temples, markets and river boats can fill a family itinerary, and the BTS Skytrain makes getting between them simple. We suggest keeping outdoor sightseeing to mornings and evenings, then returning to air-conditioned hotels in the afternoon heat.
Pattaya: Pattaya sits on the Gulf coast roughly two hours by road from the capital, and its beaches stay warm throughout the summer months. The resort has several water parks that keep children occupied on hot afternoons when the heat is at its most intense. We find it works well for families who want a sea-facing base without the long transfers needed to reach the southern islands.
Ayutthaya: Ayutthaya is a historic city north of the capital where the ruins sit in open parkland with limited shade, so summer visits require planning. Cycling or hiring a tuk-tuk is the usual way to cover the sites, and early starts make the walking far more comfortable. We recommend it as a day trip rather than a base, since the city's relative quiet is best enjoyed before the midday heat builds.
Chiang Mai: Chiang Mai sits at altitude in the north, which makes it noticeably cooler than the coast and gives it the most comfortable summer climate in the country. The old walled city offers a wealth of temples, and the surrounding mountains provide scenic views for travellers who want a break from humidity. It is a sound choice for summer holidays to Thailand when families want temperate evenings alongside culture and gentle activities. It is exactly the brief our Thailand holidays deals are built around.
Khao Sok: Khao Sok National Park in the south is a rainforest reserve where the canopy keeps temperatures down under the trees, though humidity remains high. Summer rain tends to arrive in short, heavy bursts, which can make the river and reservoir scenery especially striking. We think it suits adventurous families who accept some rain in exchange for dense jungle and quiet nights on the water.

These resort areas are set up for children, with easy beaches, activities and reliable facilities that suit a summer family break.

Khao Lak: Khao Lak on the Andaman coast has gently shelving beaches where the water stays shallow for a considerable distance, which suits younger swimmers. The resorts are quieter than the larger southern hubs, and the nearby rainforest park offers an easy day trip for families. The trade-off is fewer nightlife options, which most family travellers will consider a benefit. It is exactly the brief our Thailand Family Holidays deals are built around.
Koh Samui: Koh Samui has a well-developed family resort scene with beaches, pools and organised activities close to hotels. The island has its own airport with direct flights from the capital, which saves a long overland transfer when travelling with children. We usually recommend it for families who want an established island base with plenty of choice.
Cha-am: Cha-am is the recommended alternative for this itinerary: a calm resort town on the Gulf of Thailand, where family-friendly hotels line a gently shelving sandy beach. Its shallow, slow-moving water suits younger children, and the nearby Cha-am Forest Park offers shaded walks and bird-spotting. Families can easily add a day trip to the royal palace at Phra Ram Ratchaniwet, making it a relaxed, well-rounded base for a holiday with kids.
Phuket: Phuket offers the widest range of family hotels in Thailand, with beaches on the west coast that suit a range of ages and budgets. The island is connected to the mainland by a bridge and has an international airport with direct flights from the capital. Summer weather on the Andaman side is wetter, so we suggest choosing a resort with indoor facilities to keep children entertained during heavy showers. It is exactly the brief our Thailand Last Minute Holidays deals are built around.
Krabi: Krabi offers a family-friendly beach resort on the Andaman coast, with plenty of restaurants close by and easy access to boat trips around the dramatic limestone islands. Summer rainfall can be heavy in this part of the world, so flexible itineraries work best, with boat excursions timed around the forecast. We find it ideal for families who want a scenic coastline and a relaxed daily rhythm.
