Cheap Holidays to Canary Islands in September

These resort areas offer strong value in September, with plenty of hotel choice and beaches that stay busy but rarely overcrowded.

• Playa de las Américas: Looking for a budget-friendly Corfu base in September? Agios Gordios on the west coast offers a long, sandy beach, a relaxed village atmosphere and plenty of tavernas serving fresh grilled fish. Warm sea temperatures, quieter streets after the summer rush and lower resort prices make it one of the most economical areas on the island for an affordable autumn break. • Maspalomas: Maspalomas offers a relaxed resort feel with long sandy beaches, a golf course and protected dunes a short distance away. Many hotels here are well-established, which gives us a good range of options at different price points for September departures. The resort is more spread out than compact island towns, so guests should expect to rely on taxis or local buses for longer journeys. We think it is an excellent fit for couples and returning visitors who prize space and calm over nightlife. It is exactly the brief our holidays deals on this Canarian island are built around. • Playa Blanca: Playa Blanca in the south of the island is a quiet beach resort that suits travellers who prefer a slower pace and easy access to the ferry link to the neighbouring island next door. Its sandy beaches and compact seafront make it simple to explore on foot, and September rates are often competitive with the busier summer weeks. The resort has fewer large hotels than the bigger resort centres on the other side of the archipelago, which means choice is narrower but the atmosphere is calmer. It is a sound choice for guests who want a restful stay with the option of day trips across the islands. It is exactly the brief our island holidays deals are built around. • Corralejo: Corralejo at the northern tip of the island combines long sandy beaches with the nearby dunes, and it is a popular base for windsurfing and kitesurfing. In September the wind can be strong on exposed shores, so we advise guests to choose their beach according to whether they want calm water or active sports. Accommodation here is generally priced sensibly, and the village has a relaxed fishing-town character rather than a large resort strip. We would point families and active travellers toward Corralejo for a good balance of outdoor interest and affordability. • Puerto de la Cruz: Puerto de la Cruz sits on the north coast of the island, a traditional resort town with volcanic black-sand beaches, historic streets and a calmer atmosphere than the south of the island. The north coast tends to be cooler and breezier than the south, which many September visitors find comfortable for walking and sightseeing. Hotel prices here are often more modest than in the busiest southern resorts, though the range of beaches is smaller. We see this as a strong choice for travellers who want culture and gardens alongside a budget-conscious stay.
