Cheap Holidays from Bristol to Canary Islands

Resorts on the southern coasts tend to offer the widest choice of budget hotels and the shortest transfer times from the airport.

• Maspalomas: Maspalomas is a resort with a relaxed feel, a broad sandy beach and access to the dunes, and it sits within easy reach of the island airport. Its hotel stock includes a good number of mid-range options, which keeps the package price competitive for a Bristol departure. The trade-off is that the resort is quieter than the busier strips, so it suits travellers who value calm evenings over nightlife. We rate it as one of the strongest value bases for a week in the sun, the same brief our Canary Islands Last Minute Holidays deals are built around. Holidays to this part of the archipelago from Bristol are a natural fit for guests who want space.
• Puerto del Carmen: Puerto del Carmen offers a long promenade, a busy old harbour and a good range of budget apartments and hotels within walking distance of the shops and restaurants. The island's airport is a short drive away, so transfer costs stay modest compared with more remote coasts. The resort is livelier than some alternatives, which some travellers enjoy and others find busy. For a cheap base with plenty to do on foot, it is a dependable choice among holidays on the island.
• Costa Calma: Costa Calma is a low-rise resort on the south-east coast of the island, with wide beaches and a quieter pace than the busier centres elsewhere. Its budget accommodation is generally simpler, and the nearest airport lies a longer drive away, so the transfer cost is a factor to weigh against the room rate. Those who prefer space and sea views over a lively town will find the trade-off worth making. We recommend it for travellers focused on value, and it pairs well with the kind of restful beach week our island holidays deals are built around. It is exactly the brief our holidays deals for the Canary Islands are built around.
• Los Cristianos: Los Cristianos is a compact resort on the southern coast of the island, with a working ferry port, a sheltered beach and a steady stock of budget apartments close to the seafront. This southern corner of the island has one of the shortest airport transfers available, which keeps total package costs competitive for Bristol departures, the same brief our Canary Islands holiday deals are built around. The town is busy in peak season, so booking early helps secure the better-priced rooms. It remains one of the most cost-effective bases for a sun-soaked Canary Islands break. It is exactly the brief our holiday deals for this island are built around.
• Playa del Inglés: Playa del Inglés is a large resort in the southern Canary Islands, offering a wide choice of hotels across all price bands, from simple apartments to larger all-inclusive properties, which is the same kind of flexibility our Canary Islands Family Holidays deals are built around. Its long beach and central promenade make it straightforward to walk between restaurants and shops without needing a taxi. The resort is compact in some areas and more built-up in others, so checking the exact location before booking matters for both price and noise. For choice at a range of budgets, it stands out among budget holidays in the Canaries.
