Half Board Holidays to Canary Islands

These resort areas offer the strongest mix of included evening meals and nearby restaurants for half board guests.

• Costa Adeje: Costa Adeje in the south-west of the island has the widest choice of hotels with half board dining rooms, many of them offering evening buffets alongside a la carte options. Because the resort is large, you can eat out at lunchtime in several neighbourhoods without travelling far from your hotel. The trade-off is that the busiest hotels can feel crowded at peak meal times, so booking an earlier dinner slot helps. For families and couples wanting a dependable half board base with plenty of lunch options, we think this resort is one of the strongest choices in the Canary Islands. • Maspalomas: Maspalomas on the south coast of the island pairs a sheltered resort layout with a good spread of half board hotels and relaxed restaurants along the promenade. The resort is compact enough that a short walk takes you from your hotel to lunch spots, and the evening dining rooms are generally calm and easy to book. Shops for snacks and drinks are close at hand, which suits guests who want to skip lunch in the hotel. It is a practical choice for travellers who value easy walking distances over a lively nightlife scene. Explore our holidays to the island for more choice. • Playa Blanca: Playa Blanca in the south of the island is a quieter resort where half board hotels tend to serve smaller, more personal evening meals rather than large buffets. Restaurants along the seafront offer good lunch options, and ferry links to a neighbouring island make day trips simple. The trade-off is a smaller choice of late-evening eating compared with bigger resorts, so earlier dinner times suit most guests. For a calm half board stay with good seafront dining, this resort works very well. See our holidays to the island for more options. • Corralejo: Corralejo, at the northern tip of the Canary Islands' Atlantic isle, is a fishing village with a relaxed dining scene, including harbourside restaurants that suit lunch after a morning on the beach. Hotel stock here is smaller, so half board evening meals are often served in intimate dining rooms rather than large halls. Self-catering shops are well stocked for snacks, which helps if you prefer a light lunch. It works best for guests who enjoy a village atmosphere and are happy to eat out in the evenings alongside their included meal. Discover our holidays to the Canary Islands for more choice. • Puerto de la Cruz: Puerto de la Cruz on the north coast of the Canary Islands has a traditional old town with cafes and restaurants within walking distance of many hotels. Half board works well here because lunch options range from simple tapas bars to sit-down restaurants, and the evening meal in hotels is often served with a local flavour. This northern side of the island is cooler and greener than the south, which can suit guests who prefer milder conditions. Expect fewer large buffet hotels than in the south, which makes it a good match for travellers who want a calmer half board stay. Compare our Canary Islands holidays before you book.
